3d Shapes

WALT:  make 3D foil shapes.

Success criteria:

Make a 3D shape out of paper and wrap it in foil.
Talk about what kind of shape you made.
Talk about how many faces, sides and corners your shape has.

Symmetry Shapes


Walt: explore shapes by cutting them out using symmetry and naming their sides, faces and corners.

Success criteria:

I can predict what the shape will be when I cut it out.
I can talk about what shape is it.
I can name how many corners, faces and sides my shapes have.

News Time!!

WALT: share our news with the rest of the class and listen to our peers news.

Success criteria:

·      Looking at the audience when we talk,
·      We are standing with confidence (nice and straight),
·      We are talking in a clear voice,
·      We are adding detail about  item we are sharing,
·      We are asking open questions to the person sharing their news,

·      We can answer questions with some detail,

     We are showing respect to the speaker and listening to their news.

Art mural

WALT: plan and create an art mural that represents us as New Zealander and members of Oaklands School.

Success criteria:


  • Plan a sketch drawing of a image relating to the topic.
  • Work with others in a sensible manner and by sharing roles.
  • Prime the wooden board for the final product to go on. 
  • Plan the colours of paint to use that fits with the image.
  • Draw the image on a wooden board and paint the image using colours.



Recount writing

WALT: write a recount


Success criteria:

  1. The first paragraph says where, when, who, why and how.
  2. The events are in order.
  3. I will use time words (first, then, finally, etc.).
  4. My recount is written in the past tense.
  5. Details are added to make my writing interesting. Adding adjectives (no went!)
  6. I finish my writing by saying how I felt

Morgan has done an excellent job at publishing her writing. She has met the success criteria for this task as well. Her next steps are to check her draft after it has been edited by herself and the teacher when publishing so there are no mistakes and to work on adding full stops at the end of a sentence.
